Week of Feb. 24
Starr-Mathews Insurance will sponsor and present a Lunch & Learn event from 11 a.m. to 1 p. m. on Wednesday at the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce. The Georgia SMART Plan Seminar is free to Chamber members, their guests and members of the business community, but space is limited and registration is required. During the seminar, businesses employing 50 or fewer will receive information about an exciting new health insurance plan made possible through the Georgia Chamber. The Highland Rivers Health Governing Board of Directors will meet on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Bartow Recovery Center, 650 Joe Frank Harris Parkway in Cartersville. The City of Calhoun, Calhoun Woman’s Club and Keep Calhoun/Gordon Beautiful are sponsoring this year’s Arbor Day tree distribution on March 2. Arbor Day activities will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the UGA Extension Service livestock pavilion off Ga. 53 Spur. Tree distribution is on a first come, first served basis. Tree seedlings species available will be eastern red cedar, bald cypress, dogwood, willow oak, red maple, thuja and wax myrtle. For more information call 770-881-2710.
The Calhoun Little Theater will perform “Belles” at the Harris Arts Center, 212 S. Wall St., on March 1, March 2, March 8 and March 9, with each performance started at 7 p.m. There will also be a March 3 performance at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for seniors/students and $10 for HAC members. Week of March 3
The March 2019 meet- ing of the Conasauga Chapter of the Georgia Nurses Association will be held on March 4 at 7 p.m. at the Whitfield County Health Department, 800 Professional Blvd. in Dalton. The program will be provided by Terri Woodruff, a pediatric nurse practitioner, speaking about the Anna Shaw Children’s Institute. All registered nurses are invited to attend.
