21, will be Archaeology Day at the New Echota State Historic Site, located at 1211 Chatsworth Highway 22 N. in Calhoun. Jodi N. Morley, State Archaeologist with USDA, will be onsite to discuss the impact of archaeology. The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and admission is $5.50 for children, $6.50 for senior citizens, $7 for adults and free for kids 5 and younger. For more information, call 706-624-1321.
The annual Goble reunion will be on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m. at the home of Larry and Janet Thomason on Pine Chapel Road in Resaca.
In observance of National Prostate Awareness Month, AdventHealth Gordon will offer free prostate cancer screenings on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at AdventHealth Medical Group Urology at Calhoun. Gordon County Schools will be hosting Special Education Private/Homeschool Consultations for Students with Disabilities as required by IDEA 2004 on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 9 a.m. The consultations will take place at the central office in the BOE Conference Room at 205 Warrior Path in Calhoun. During the event the special education director will discuss the Child Find process, the determination of funding available, the consultation process, the details of service and the notification process.
Hamilton Physician Group’s Calhoun Campus is hosting a Meet the Providers event on Thursday, Sept.
26, from 5 to 7 p.m. Those providers will include Justin Hare, DO; Michelle Little, DO; and Jennifer Smith, FNP. The event at 160 Curtis Parkway N.E. will include hors d’doeuvres, door prizes and giveaways.
AdventhHealth Gordon is hosting Dinner, Doctors and Discussions on Thursday, Sept. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the hospital in Conference Room E. The Site Council at the Gordon County Senior Center is sponsoring a BBQ plate sale on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the center, 150 Cambridge Court, from 10:30 a.m. to

The Board of Commissioners will be meeting on Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Gordon County Administrative Building to review Crane Eater Community Church’s request regarding road closures for their 5K/10K race to be held Nov. 30.
