TOBI Says: Do you like to win?

Everybody likes to be the winner. It is a lot more fun to win. Last weekend was the 5k Run for God in Dalton. There were over 300 runners there to participate. Only four or five expected to be the overall winner. Where about four or five ladies expected to be the first

female.

Then maybe a few expected to be the masters winner. Masters runners are those over forty years old. Others thought that they might win their age group (those were 10 year age ranges).

But most were considered winners when they finished the 3.1 mile course. They did much better than others that just considered participating. The winners were those that joined the run.

If your team wins a championship, everybody gets a first place trophy. They do not list who was best on your team down to who did worst. Being on the team made you a winner.

When you join God’s team, the same thing happens. Everybody is a winner. Nobody gets a grade. It would be an A. But you have to join the team.

When you thank God for loving you, and ask Him to forgive your sin, you joined the team.

Have you had to tell your brother or sister that you were sorry? After you did that, did they believe you? Did you just say it, or did you mean it? You said it to make you feel better.

Forgive is different. When you go to your brother or sister, and ask them to forgive you, it is to make them feel better and to be able to forgive you. Then it is easier for them to believe you.

The same is true for God. When you ask Him to forgive you, He does the forgiving. And He promises to do it. Then you are on the winning team. But you have to join the team. Thinking about it is not enough.

You have to be a participant. Get in the game today. You will be glad that you did.
