CCCA Student of the Week Spotlight
Calhoun High School 12th grader, Miriam Morales, is the Calhoun College and Career Academy Student of the Week for Oct. 18-22.
Miriam is a student in the teaching as a profession pathway and a member of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. Miriam is also a member of Health Occupation Students of America.
Miriam’s TAP teacher, Beth Holcomb, nominated Miriam stating, “Miriam is an extraordinary young lady. She is an intelligent and hardworking student that contributes positively to our contemporary Issues in education class. She strives for excellence and goes above and beyond in the classroom each day. Miriam loves to learn and actively seeks opportunities to build knowledge. She has a passion for teaching and is currently building her skill set working with students at the Complex in first grade and with children in the after school KEEP program. As a result of her enthusiasm for teaching and learning coupled with her dedication to the profession, she is going to be a phenomenal teacher.”
Miriam chose the TAP pathway at the CCCA because she wants to be in a position to establish meaningful connections with young students in hopes of making a positive impact on their lives.
Miriam aspires to be a primary school teacher. She plans to attend Dalton State College to pursue a degree in early childhood education.
When asked about her thoughts on the TAP pathway at CCCA, Miriam stated,
”Getting the opportunity to work with students in practicum and the KEEP program at the Complex has allowed me to solidify my choice to pursue education as my career.”
Congratulations to Miriam Morales, CCCA Student of the Week for Oct. 18-22.
