CES participates in Trion cross country race
Calhoun Elementary School recently participated in the Trion Cross Country Race held in Trion.
Coach Jerry Pruett & Patty Leatherwood carried 58 participants to compete in the cross-country race. This group of runners consisted of boys and girls from each grade level (3rd – 5th). All participants showed their competitive spirit, determination, and sportsmanship as they competed.
As a result of their hard work, these young runners achieved “SUCCESS”. In the 3rd grade division, the girls placed 2nd and the boys placed 1st. In the 4th grade division, the girls captured 2nd place and boys finished in 1st place. In the 5th grade division, the girls captured 2nd place with the boys placing 1st.
Runners who finished in the Top 10 received a medal. Receiving medals for their accomplishments are:

3rd Grade Boys: Asa Mullins, 1st; Asher Land, 2nd; Sterling Pharr, 3rd; Henley

4th Grade Girls: Anna Worley, 1st and Lola Mitchell, 10th
4th Grade Boys: Brayden Tomlinson, 2nd; Easton Palmer, 5th; Paul Hunt, 7th; Jake Jones, 8th; and Layton Parker, 10th
5th Grade girls: Olivia Moore, 1st; Marley Hall, 6th; and Gracelyn Derrick, 8th
5th Grade boys: Samuel Hinojosa, 1st; Justus Miller, 3rd; Price Startup, 6th; Nash Roberts, 7th; Fletcher Davis, 9th; and Jackson West, 10th

Students were welcomed with a parade in the halls of the Complex upon arrival to school after the race. We are proud of all of our runners! Go Jackets!
