CCCA Student of the Week Spotlight

- From Calhoun City Schools

Calhoun High School 12th grader, Tess Parker, is the Calhoun College and Career Academy Student of the Week for Oct. 25-29.

Tess is a student in the graphic design pathway. Tess’s graphic design teacher, Greta Hughes, nominated Tess stating, “Tess is a fourth year graphic design student who is also a current work-based learning student as the graphic design intern for Jacket Print+Design. She is a reliable student who will complete the job fully without complaint. Tess is known as the silent leader. She doesn’t say much but her work ethic and end results speak to her talent and skill. She wants to be involved and will do whatever it takes to complete the assignment. She has helped with several logo designs for the College and Career Academy as well as special projects for the Calhoun Homerun Club and student planner

project. Tess excels academically and loves to cheer on the Jackets at every event.”

Tess chose the graphic design pathway at the CCCA to show her creativity. She enjoys looking at all the little details in designs.

Tess hopes to attend the University of Georgia in the fall of 2022. She plans to pursue a degree in biology with a minor in graphic design.

After graduating, she plans

to attend the University of Georgia’s School of Pharmacy.

When asked about her thoughts on the graphic design pathway at CCCA, Tess stated, ”I really enjoy the graphic design pathway. It is a great way to show my creativity and skills. I also love working with Mrs. Hughes.”
