CCCA Student of the Week Spotlight

Calhoun High School 12th grader Kylie Swinford, is the Calhoun College and Career Academy Student of the Week for Nov. 1-4.

Kylie is a student in the law and public safety pathway at CCCA. Kylie’s law and public safety teacher, Helen Hughey, nominated Kylie stating, “Kylie has demonstrat­ed leadership in the classroom for the past three years. I have enjoyed getting to know her and see her grow to find a pathway that she is truly passionate about and plans to pursue as a career.”

Kylie chose the law and public safety pathway at the CCCA because she has always found the court system interestin­g.

Kylie aspires to become a criminal prosecutor.

She hopes to attend the University of Georgia in the fall of 2022 and major in criminal justice for her bachelor’s degree. Afterwards, Kylie plans to go to law school at the University of Chicago and to earn her Juris Doctor Degree.

When asked about her thoughts on the law and public pathway at CCCA, Kylie stated, “I have truly enjoyed my time in this pathway. I have learned so much, and I know now what I want to do for a career. I also get to have my favorite teacher!”
