CCS cancels school Friday for GHSA playoffs

CCS will be closed on Friday, Nov. 19

The Calhoun Yellow Jacket Football team will travel over 300 miles to Memorial Stadium in Waycross Friday to meet take on the Ware County Gators in round two of the

GHSA playoffs.

The school system encourage everyone to show their spirit by wearing black and gold and displaying banners and signs of support at home and places of business this week.

To allow for six hours of travel time for our band, students, teachers, parents and community members, we have determined that we must close school on Friday.

This will be counted as a field trip day for students and staff. All are encouraged to go to the game to help support the team.

All pre-sale tickets must be purchased through GoFan. The GHSA releases ticket links the weekend before the game is played. Once the ticket link is made available to the public, we will post the link on the Calhoun Athletics webpage and all Calhoun

City Schools’ social media outlets.

Tickets cost $10 for all GHSA second round playoff football games. More details regarding seating and ticketing information will be released when received from Ware County High School.

The KEEP program will be available for parents who wish to use the service. The cost is $20 per day and is open 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.
