CHAMBERS, Robert “Rabbit”

Robert “Rabbit” Chambers, age 69 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA.

Robert was born on August 7, 1952 in Floyd County, GA, son of the late George Richard Chambers and Margaret Louise Edwards Chambers. Robert was a graduate of Calhoun High School Class of 1971, where he was an outstanding athlete, excelling in both football and track. After high school he enjoyed playing for the Calhoun Rec Men’s Softball Team. He was an avid University of Georgia fan.

Robert is survived by: two sons, Jason (Stacy) Chambers and Eric (Indya) Chambers; one brother, Stanley Chambers; one sister, Lynn (Robert) Wages all of Calhoun; and three grandchildren, Dustin (Caitlyn) Chambers, Ethan Chambers, Choloe Chambers and Drea Wilson.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11 AM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend John Dorsey officiating. Interment will follow in Ramsey Cemetery in Chatsworth, GA.

Pallbearers serving include: Dustin Chambers, Ethan Chambers, Daniel Brown, Stanley Godwin, Charlie Nelson, and Jason Justice.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 12, 2021 from PM until 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
