Still time left to participate in DFCS Sponsor a Child

Though the original Nov. 15 deadline has come and gone, Gordon County Division of Family & Children Services is still accepting sponsors for children’s Christmas lists.

There are a few kids who have just come into care and not been sponsored yet, so there are still opportunities to give to kids in need. DFCS Sponsor a Child does not begin accepting toys until the week of Nov. 29, so there’s still plenty of time left.

Unlike in toy drives such as Toys for Tots, those interested in sponsoring a child would reach out to DFCS to get the Christmas list of a child in need. This process allows for children to get exactly what they want and need this holiday season.

Alternatively, those interested in donating money can do so as well. According to Jody Sanderson at Gordon County DFCS, all funds stay in the Sponsor a Child account into the next year.
