Mrs. Janie Lou Black McEntyre, 95, of Calhoun, died Friday at 11:50 PM at The Fountains, following several years of declining health.

Janie was born June 6, 1926, in Gordon County, a daughter of the late Sallie Anne Porch Black and Charlton “Chock” Black. She had lived her lifetime in Gordon County and was a charter member of the Crane Eater Community Church of God. Janie was preceded in death by her husband, Abner “Ab” Andrew McEntyre in 1998, to whom she was married 52 years. Janie, the youngest of eleven children was preceded in death by her brothers & sisters: Earl Black, Marvin Black (Pearl), Georgia Mae Couch (Gordon), Conway Black (Neata Mae), Ford Black (Nanie Lee), Ervin Black (Doris), Edgebert Black (Odessa), Carrie Kardash (John), Samuel Black (Bobbie), and Annie Ruth Frix (Roy).

She is survived by two sons Randy (Donna) McEntyre and Stan (Darla) McEntyre, all of Calhoun; four grandchild­ren: Zach McEntyre of Atlanta, Marah (Sam) Hardie of Marietta, Andrew McEntyre of Dallas, TX, and Christy (Ben) Stanga of Brentwood, TN; two great grandchild­ren: Jay Stanga and Elley Stanga. Special Niece Teresa Muse Brosemer (Walter) of Huntsville, Alabama, and other beloved nieces & nephews; in addition to her family Janie loved and was loved by special caregiver & friend Jill Robbins.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday November 24th at 2 PM at Fain Cemetery with Rev. Daron Henson officiatin­g. Music will be offered by Burt Jeffords, Carmen Free, Kenny Herron and Marah and Sam Hardie.

The family request that friends meet at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons can be made to the Family Resource Center Child Abuse Center 320 N River St NW Calhoun, GA. 30701 or dropped off at Greater Community Bank.
