Former Alabama offensive lineman Pierce Quick announced Saturday that he is transferring to Georgia Tech.

Quick, a top-50 recruit nationally in 2019 who played at Hewitt-Trussville High School in Alabama, had entered the NCAA transfer portal late last month.

Quick saw limited playing time in almost three full seasons with the Tide, appearing this season only in Alabama’s opener against Miami. He played in four games as a freshman and three as a sophomore, all as a reserve.

Quick, one of the toprated offensive linemen in the 2019 recruiting class, chose Alabama over Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Clemson,

Michigan and Oklahoma.

Georgia Tech’s run game coordinator/offensive line coach Brent Key served as Alabama’s offensive line coach from 2016-18 during Quick’s recruitment.

Quick’s younger brother, Riley, committed in July to play baseball at Alabama as a member of its 2022 recruiting class. The younger Quick also played offensive line at HewittTrussville and was a highly-rated football recruit before choosing baseball.

Former Alabama cornerback Marcus Banks and linebacker Jackson Bratton, who also entered the transfer portal late this season, have yet to announce new destinations.
