Tanya Dawn Blalock, 64, of Dunwoody, went home to be with her heavenly father on December 14, 2021.

Tanya had the purest of souls and an endless abundance of love in her heart. She was loved by all who knew her.

On December 29, 1956, she was born to Fred & Myra Jo Collins in Atlanta, Georgia.

Tanya pursued her educationa­l dreams beginning at Shorter College, where she earned her BS in Biology in the Class of 1978, and furthered her education to earn a Masters of Health Physics from Georgia Institute of Technology, Class of 1984.

On January 20, 1990, Tanya and Mitchell married and have one son, John Collins Blalock, 28.

Tanya retired from Georgia Power after thirty eight years of service, finishing her career as an Environmen­tal Affairs General Manager. She was a member and former President of the Board of Trustees for the Chattahooc­hee Nature Center.

Tanya is survived by Husband, Mitchell Blalock; Son, John Collins Blalock; Father-in-law CJ Blalock; Sister, Carlia C. & Dennis Blanchard; Sister-in-law, Tammy & Tyron Johnson; Nieces & Nephews Melissa & Rick Lane, Dalton & Taylor Lane, Bailey Lane, Riley Lane, Dwayne Brumbelow, Kayne, Kohlby & Karley Brumbelow, Mandy Jones, Kennedy Sherrod, Madison & Hunter Strickland & Lillie Curry, Heather Scott, Jordan Collinswor­th, Isabella Scott, Toben & Carmin Hill, Alexander, Nicolas, Harlie & Bristol Hill Swayze & Meredith Johnson, Etta Grey, Tammy Cole, Carissa & Chris DiBenedett­o, Kyle & Katerra Cole, Aimee Blanchard, Hunter Ash, Danny & Linda Blanchard, Danny & Meghan Blanchard, Kayla & Cory Neighbors, Brooke Elise Johnson, Brandi & Jake Brumlow, Elle & Mitt Brumlow.

Tanya is preceded in death by her parents, Fred & Myra Jo Collins, brother Tommy Tyrone Hill, and Mother-inlove, Mary Blalock.

Due to ongoing constructi­on at the Chattahooc­hee Nature Center, the family has decided to postpone the Celebratio­n of Life until the Spring. This will give those in attendance an opportunit­y to enjoy all that the Center has to offer, including the aviaries and the many gardens which will be in bloom.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tanya’s honor to the Chattahooc­hee Nature Center.

The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Tanya Dawn Blalock.
