Traffic stop leads to large meth bust
A recent traffic stop led to the seizure of a large amount of drugs, according to authorities.
According to Gordon County Sheriff’s Office and Jail reports:
While on patrol on Dec. 30, a deputy saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed (over 90-miles-per-hour) on the South Calhoun Bypass. When the deputy attempted to signal for a traffic stop, and after a short pursuit, a search revealed several pounds of methamphetamine.
Driver Jonathan Samano, 22, and passenger Lacey Hall, 21 — both of Calhoun — were each arrested without incident and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.
Samano was additionally charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, speeding, reckless driving, stop sign violation, improper passing, possession of a weapon during commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of meth, possession of meth with intent
to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, marijuana possession less than one ounce, drugs not in the original container, and sale of dangerous drugs.
Hall was additionally charged with possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, marijuana possession less than an ounce, drugs not in the original container, dangerous drugs, open container violation, possession of meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, and possession of cocaine.
Both Samano and Hall remained in Gordon County Jail as of Thursday evening.
