Red Cross offering NWGA blood donation opportunities
Across Northwest Georgia, the American Red Cross plans to offer several opportunities to donate blood throughout the month of March.
“As spring approaches, the American Red Cross urges donors to give blood now to continue to strengthen the national blood supply,” the organization said in a recent release. “People of all blood types — especially those with type O blood — are critical to ensuring hospitals can meet the daily demand for lifesaving transfusions.”
During March — which is Red Cross Month across the country — the organization celebrates its many volunteers, as well as blood and platelet it says are “critical to ensuring those in need receive relief and care.”
To schedule a time and location to donate, visit RedCrossBlood.org online, download the Red Cross Blood Donor application for your smart phone, or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
For their appreciation, all donors giving by March 24 will receive a $10 e-gift card to a pet supply merchant of choice, plus be entered to win one of five $3,000 gift cards by visiting
RedCrossBlood.org/Pets online.
