Family feud lands pair in hospital
Burrillville police find weed among 2 suffering from wounds
BURRILLVILLE — Police discovered a man suffering from knife wounds and his father with blunt force trauma injuries – plus a substantial quantity of marijuana – after investigating a report of a family feud at 655 Log Road Monday, they said.
Bruce Quebec, 61, and his son, Daniel Quebec, 31, were both transported to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to Major Dennis Leahy.
No criminal charges were filed against either of the Quebecs, but that could change in the near future. The major said the incident was still under investigation at press time Monday and police could have more to say about the case as early as today.
Leahy declined to release many additional details after issuing a press release, but he said police responded to the Quebec residence about 7 a.m. after a 911 call was placed by Bruce Quebec’s wife – Daniel’s mother.
While he said materials commonly used for packaging marijuana and a substan- tial quantity of the drug were seized from the residence, Leahy stopped short of saying the two men were involved in drug trafficking.
Leahy also said the two men were fighting about something other than drugs when they apparently injured each other. He said Daniel had three knife wounds and the father had blunt force injuries on his head and face.
“It had nothing to do with any aspect involving drugs,” said Leahy, but he declined to elaborate.
