BURRILLVILLE –A father-son feud that left both injured – one with stab wounds – were both arraigned on assault and narcotics charges as police seized some eight pounds of marijuana, 27 firearms and three crossbows from their home while investigating the fight.

Daniel Quebec, 31, and his father, Bruce Quebec, 61, both of 655 Log Road, were released on $20,000 personal recognizance Tuesday, with orders from the judge to keep away from each other, following an appearance in District Court.

Daniel was arraigned on charges of domestic felony assault, domestic felony assault on a person over 60 and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.

Police said Bruce Quebec stabbed his son twice in the buttocks and once in the leg with a hunting knife during an argument over the use of the son’s room. The son is also accused of striking his father, leaving him with blunt force injuries on his face and head.

“It was literally a fight about who was in the room,”

said Major Dennis Leahey. “The father was in the son’s room and the son objected.”

Police responded to a 911 call placed by Bruce Quebec’s wife about 7 a.m. Monday when they discovered the wounded men – along with a small arsenal of firearms, packaged marijuana and other weapons.

The two were taken to Rhode Island Hospital to be treated for the wounds shortly after police arrived at the apartment.

Leahey said the younger Quebec holds a valid, stateissued medical marijuana card that entitles him to be in possession of a comparatively small amount of marijuana.

“Eight pounds is well over the legal limit,” said Leahey.

The drugs were found in the basement.

Leahey said police also took numerous firearms from the home for safekeeping, including a number of shotguns, handguns and rifles. Leahey said the Quebecs acquired all of the weapons legally.

The Quebecs are due back in court on March 16.
