Miss Saigon auditions on tap at Stadium Theatre

WOONSOCKET — The Encore Repertory Company will be holding auditions for its upcoming 2016 produc-tion of Miss Saigon. Auditions will be held at the Stadium Theatre ( 28 Monument Square, Woonsocket), on tonight, and Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at 6:30 p.m.

We are seeking male and female actors ages 18 and up. Prepare 16-32 bars of a song that best showcases your vocal ability. All roles are open. Auditions will consist of a vocal and dance portion. Bring a theatre resume and sheet music. An accompanist will be provided.

Rehearsals will take place on Sundays from 12-3 p.m., and Monday/Thursday evenings from 6: 30- 9: 30

Miss Saigon p.m. will run May 6-8, 2016, and is presented by The Encore Repertory Company.

Arts Around the Fire, Newport

NEWPORT — The Arts & Cultural Alliance of Newport County presents its networking event — Arts Around the Fire — on Tuesday, Jan. 19, from 6-8 p.m. at Salvation Café’s Post & Beam room at 140 Broadway in Newport.

Brenda Nienhouse, the new Executive Director of the Newport Performing Arts Center, will be there to speak briefly about progress on the Opera House project.

Arts Around the Fire is an opportunity for artists, writers, performers and arts patrons to chat with colleagues about events and accomplishments in the Newport County cultural community and learn about new ideas and good work being done..
