Look to score prizes at St. Ann vendor bingo

-

WOONSOCKET – You can win scores of prizes for a good cause at “Vendor Bingo” Saturday from noon-4 p.m. at St. Ann Arts and Cultural Center.

The event, featuring nearly a hundred vendors, is the brainchild of sisters Rita Benoit and Lorraine Robin, who have been active in the Relay for Life campaign to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Robin is the force behind the Rockin’ Robins, a relay team that participates in the yearly cancer walk.

Although Saturday’s event begins at noon, the doors open at 11 so visitors can peruse the many vendors whose wares will be among the prizes given out via victory at bingo, raffles, a penny social and more. Most of the prizes are valued at $25-50. Among the major prizes, a $300 ladies bicycle donated by Mr. and Mrs. Earle Lataille and a computer tablet donated by Benoit.

Benoit has also assembled dozens of gift baskets, filled with food, pet supplies, kitchen goods, and other items, that will be up for grabs. Visitors can also take a chance on $20 “mystery bags” whose contents are worth over twice as much, the organizers say.

There is no charge for admission, but $15 pays for a strip of bingo cards that boils down to 14 games.
