Jeffrey Osborne Classic returns to McCoy
PAWTUCKET – For the third straight year, Jeffrey Osborne is bringing his pals from the entertainment and sports world to McCoy Stadium.
Osborne and the Pawtucket Red Sox will host the third annual Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity All-Star Softball Classic at McCoy on Monday, August 8. The guest list includes Magic Johnson, Smokey Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, and others.
Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. for a 7:05 game between Magic and Jeffrey’s team of All-Stars, and a second team made up of New England Celebrity All-Stars.
Alimited number of VIP barbeque tickets will be available for purchase ($40), providing access to a “Celebrity Selfie Photo Session,” an unlimited BBQ buffet, and an on-field viewing for the game.
All ticket proceeds will benefit the Jeffrey Osborne Foundation and the PawSox Skeffington Charitable Foundation.
An NBA Hall of Famer, Magic Johnson will appear at McCoy along with several former Los Angeles Laker teammates and other stars from the athletic and entertainment world, both from New England and beyond. Among the celebrities in attendance will be Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Smokey Robinson and International Boxing Hall of Famer Sugar Ray Leonard. The full rosters for both teams will continue to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
Tickets for the event will go on sale beginning Saturday, May 28 at 10 a.m., at the PawSox/McCoy Stadium Box Office, on-line at www.pawsox.com, or over the phone at (401) 724-7300. Tickets for the VIP BBQ will be available starting at this time, as will all other tickets for the event.
