AREA ROAD RACE SCHEDULE

WOONSOCKET — George Nasuti Novans Pride 5k, 8:30 a.m., The race starts and finishes at 'the gym LLC' parking lot, 2168 Diamond Hill Road, 02895. The course is a well marked, USTAF certified, 5k loop on City roads , with mile markers and one water stop. Race is professionally timed. This race is a fundraiser for the Woonsocket Villa Novans Athletic Department. George was a true Novan, a coach, an educator, administrator and athletic director. NORTH SMITHFIELD — 5th annual Northmen/Navigant 5K Run/Walk Challenge. 9 a.m. The 3.1-mile race will start near the Northmen’s athletic complex’s parking lot on Providence Pike and finish on the track. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers, as well as the top two finishers in each age division, which includes a 70-plus category. The fee to register is $22 for adults ($25 on day of race) and $15 for North Smithfield students or college students ($18 on day of race). T-shirts will be given to the first 300 entrants.
