WOONSOCKET – Claire M. (Robert) Blanchard, 76, of Woonsocket died Monday, June 8, at Miriam Hospital in Providence.

She was the loving wife of Gerard N. Blanchard. They were married for over 55 years.

Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late George and Doris (Leveille) Robert. Claire was a homemaker.

A Woonsocket resident since 1970 coming from Albion, she was a parishione­r of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church.

Claire was active in the St. Agatha Senior citizens group, the Woonsocket Senior Center and was an avid Bingo player.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters Michelle Parkhurst and her husband, Robert, of Bellingham; and Nicole Leech and her husband, Matthew, of New Market Mary. She was the grandmothe­r of Riley Leech and Tristan Leech.

She is also survived by cousin Jackie Robert of Albion, her brother and sisterin-law Henry and Monique Sitnik of Woonsocket, one niece and two nephews as well as her best friends Nancy, Stacey, Ashley, Zak, Bruce, Greg and Sue.

Her funeral will be Monday, June 13, at 9 a.m., from the Menard–Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrecti­on Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Sunday from 4-7 p.m. menardfune­ralhome.com
