St. Agatha Seniors: Meetings June 1 and 8

WOONSOCKET — The seniors enjoyed a meat loaf dinner with all the fixings.

President Annette Beaulieu opened the business meeting with a prayer for Claire Blanchard.

A ‘thank-you’ card was received from Suzanne Pontbriand and a call was received from the family of Claire Blanchard to thank the members for their cards and prayers.

Celebratin­g birthdays were Violette Roy and Doris Durand.

The president announced that 14 articles were donated to Hasbro Hospital by the members in the month of May.

Monthly Raffle winners were Paullette Beaulieu, Albertine Deweirdt, Dottie Belleville and Frances Roy. Door prize winners were Ruth Cote, Marcel Hebert, Martha Cote and Cecile Belleville. Raffle winners were George Racine, Linda Rossi, Lucille Galipeau, Roger Petit and Roger Roy.

Tickets for the July cookout buffet scheduled for July 13 are available. Also, the president is collecting for the July 12 trip to Mohegan Sun and the August 11 clambake trip to Maine.

Winners of the special bingo games were Dave Lavallee, Lucille Galipeau, Estelle Legare, Jeannette Petrin, Cecile Belleville, Violette Roy and Leo Robidoux. Constance Seider was the caller.

Pitch winners were Dave Lavallee, George Racine, Lucille Lajoie, Claudette Desaulnier­s, Lucienne Croteau, Bernard Dubois and George Gautreau.

At the June 1 meeting, president Beaulieu opened the meeting with a prayer for Linda Rossi.

The Club received a ‘thank-you’ card from Monique Noel.

Cora Plasse, Yvette Catalano and Doris Belleville celebrated birthdays while Andre and Lucille Lajoie celebrated their 67th wedding anniversar­y.

Door prize winners were Gino Orazi, Lucille Lajoie, Betty Fiscaletti and Cecile Belleville. Raffle winners were Priscilla Paulhus, Roger Roy, Marguerite Coulombe, Jeanne Theroux and Estelle Legare.

Beatrice Parent brought in afghans for Hasbro Hospital.

The president announced that the Parish Youth Ministry will be holding a Bingo on Monday, June 13, at 6 p.m. in the parish hall. The kitchen will open at 5 p.m. and the price is $10. The public is invited to attend.

The event is to benefit the youths who will be attending Steubenvil­le this year.
