LINCOLN – With the candidate filing deadline of 4 p.m. on Wednesday in the past, it appears that the Lincoln Town Council will retain its current membership, but there will be some switch-ups on the Lincoln School Committee.

The five people who filed declaration of candidacy forms for the Town Council with the Lincoln Board of Canvassers are Keith Macksoud, Kenneth Pichette, Bruce Ogni, Arthur Russo and James Jahnz – the same five people currently on the Town Council.

“I think it’s wonderful, because I work with four men that I can honestly say have the most integrity and honesty, and their only agenda is what’s good for the town,” Ogni said. “It’s actually refreshing to work with these four people, and it’s been a pleasure, and I’m glad we’re all staying together. I think it’s a benefit to the Town of Lincoln.”

This is Ogni’s first term, making him the newest member on the Town Council.

On the School Committee, there are two atlarge seats up for re-election, along with the seats in districts 2 and 4.

Julie Zito, who has served on the School Committee for the past 12 years, is seeking reelection to her at-large seat. The other at-large member, John Carroll, is not seeking re-election.

The other two at-large candidates are Joseph Goho and William McManus. Goho, 48, has lived in Lincoln for 11 years, while McManus, 60, has lived in the town for 28 years.

Mary Anne Roll, vice chair of the School Committee, is seeking re-election to her District 4 seat and is uncontested. John Picozzi and James Olick are vying for the District 2 seat, which is currently held by Tracey Cavanaugh, who is not running for re-election.

The seats held by John LaFleur (District 1), Kristine Donabedian (District 3) and Staci Rapko Bruckner (District 5) will be up in 2018.
