Federal Reserve Bank of Boston president will discuss the 2017 U.S. economic outlook at Jan. 19 networking event
WOONSOCKET – The President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston will discuss the outlook for the U.S. economy and national monetary policy for 2017 in a speech at the annual Premier Networking Event of the RI Society of CPAs being held on January 19th, at the Twin River Event Center, Lincoln.
Federal Reserve Bank of Boston President Eric S. Rosengren will be giving his Economic Outlook as a new year gets underway and as the new Trump Administration takes office. President Rosengren, who serves on the Federal Reserve’s Federal Open Market Committee which formulates policy for setting interest rates, is also expected to discuss national monetary and interest rate issues. Current conditions in the regional New England economy may also be assessed dur- ing a question and answer session that will follow the main presentation.

Eric S. Rosengren has been the Boston Federal Reserve Bank’s President and chief executive officer since 2007. He first joined the Bank in 1985 and has held numerous senior positions over the years including vice president in Banking and Monetary Policy in the research department; senior vice president in bank Supervision, Regulation, and Credit; and Bank Executive Vice President in 2005 before being named President in 2007.
The RI Society of CPAs is the state’s central advocacy and educational organization for CPAs as well as professionals in the areas of finance, business, insurance and law and has a membership of 2,200 drawn from Rhode Island and southeastern New England.
President Rosengren’s presentation will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. with the full networking reception program starting at 5:30 p.m. The Twin River Event Center is located at 100 Twin River Road, Lincoln.
