C.F. man arrested on drug, gun charges
CENTRAL FALLS – A Central Falls man has been arrested on charges of manufacturing and distributing cocaine from Central Falls to Newport, police said.
Todd Brown, 32, of 517 High St., was arrested in Newport Monday night by Newport and Central Falls police, allegedly with a large quantity of cocaine and cash in his possession. The intelligence gathered leading up to Brown’s arrest led to a search warrant being issued for his apartment in Central Falls.
During that search, members the police seized large amounts of cocaine with a street value of approximately $3,500, police said.
Also seized were digital scales, packaging materials, cooking agents, cash, multiple cell phones and a loaded .40 caliber handgun, police said.
During the joint operation, police said they learned that Brown was manufacturing and distributing cocaine from Central Falls to Newport.
Brown was charged with manufacturing with intent to deliver cocaine (1 ounce to 1 kilo), possession of a firearm while committing a crime of violence, possession of a firearm by a felon, and maintaining a common nuisance.
Brown was arraigned Tuesday in 2nd District Court on the Newport charges where he was ordered held without bail. He was expected to be arraigned on the Central Falls charges today in 6th District Court in Providence, police said.
