1950Mike Pappas shared gamehigh honors by pouring in 20 points, but it was not enough as the Pawtucket Hoboes suffered their first tournament loss in nine games dropping a 71-63 decision to Jennies of Providence in the finals of the Blackstone Valley Gold Medal basketball tournament at the Pawtucket YMCA. Mike Webb canned 15 points and Bobby Kaveny, displaying a keen eye on his long-shot set shooting, netted 14, while George Duffy, with a brilliant play-making performanc­e, were the other standouts for coach “Buster” Mills’ Hoboes. Cagey and smooth-working Francis “Moe” Mahoney, with a spectacula­r brand of passing, adept ball handling and tricky shooting, earned MVP honors for Jennies.

1960John Small rolled the high single of 156 and Ernie Gruslin took the high three series with 356 in the weekly matches of the St. Teresa’s Duckpin Bowling League. Other leaders were Small 353, Ed Sweeney 139-351, Jerry Proulx 133-350, Tony Bodell 345, Joe Iachetti, Sr. 339, John Coleman 338, Aaron Wishnevsky 335, Bill Bartolini 335, Bill Murray 334, Joe Tavares 327, Ed Hayes 327, Paul Iachetti, 327, Emil Languirand, Joe Iachetti, Jr. 323, John Cornett 319 and Jim Garlick 318.

1970Steve Mullin rolled games of 142, 145 and 146 for a high three total of 433 to lead all bowlers in the Darlington Duckpin Bowling Lanes Monday Night House League. Other leaders were Dan Lachance 414, John Marine 410, Hank Delude 405, Don Gomes 401, George Gregory 400, Harry Barlow 393, Leon Valentine 389, Len Fournier 386, Ernie Kenney 377, Paul Frechette 372, Charlie Marques 370, George Gagnon 365, Jerry Tanguay 365, Sam Morra 360, Al L’Herueux 356, Bob King 350 and Les Prevost 350.
