Microulis spins 5-hitter in Tolman win
BARRINGTON – Peter Microulis was, once again, on top of his pitching game on Tuesday, spinning a complete-game, five-hit shutout as Tolman topped Barrington in Division II action.
Microulis struck out three and walked three en route to improving to 5-1 on the season. The senior righthander was also aided by two doubleplay balls.
Offensively, Mircoulis scored on a passed ball in the first inning and drew a bases-loaded walk in the sixth. The Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 before the Eagles could have a turn. Tim Greene, a senior, plated two runs in the first with a single.
Up 5-0 in the sixth after junior Kyle Depatie drew a walk with the bases full, the Tigers got a two-run single off bat of sophomore Izaiah Rivera-Lopez.
Now 6-2 in league play and 7-2 overall, Tolman will host Burrillville at Slater Park on Wednesday.
Sisson shuts down Clippers
CUMBERLAND — North Kingstown senior Nick Sisson only struck out three Cumberland batters Tuesday afternoon, but the Skippers’ ability to keep the Clippers off-balance proved to be crucial in an 8-0 Division I victory at Tucker Field.
Cumberland (5-4 Division I) only recorded six hits against Sisson and reliever Lucas Deslauriers and two of them belonged to sophomore shortstop Addison Kopack. Austin Cabral took the loss after allowing three runs in five innings of work.
The Clippers will look to snap a twogame losing skid Thursday afternoon in Providence against Moses Brown.
