BURRILLVILLE — With the end of the school year fast approaching, Burrillville Parks & Recreation has announced its 2017 Summer Programming Schedule:
Summer Tennis Junior’s Program will take place each Saturday for six weeks beginning June 24. Lessons to be taught by Andrew Steere, an experienced Rally Point Racquet Club Instructor. The program, for juniors ages 6 to 10, will utilize low-compression tennis balls for beginners and will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Juniors, ages 11 to 15, lessons will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All ability levels welcome.
The cost is $50 per participant for the six weeks. All lessons will take place at the tennis courts adjacent to the Burrillville High School. Summer Tennis Adult Program

The program is a great opportunity for adult instruction and play for both beginners to learn tennis and more advanced players to improve their strokes. All ability levels welcome.
The program will take place from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the tennis courts adjacent to the Burrillville High School at a cost of $75 per participant. Summer Multi-Sport at the Callahan School Gym:
Skilled and experienced instructors conduct a program focusing on playground and sports games. Kids have fun learning skills and how to be part of a team.
The program will be offered for children ages 6 through 12 during the weeks of June 19 to June 22 and Aug. 21 to Aug. 24. The program will take place at the Callahan Elementary School Gym from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fee for the four-day per week program is $80 each participant per week ($65 for siblings) or $25 per individual day. Each participant must wear sneakers and parents/guardians are required to pack a cold bag lunch and drink for their child.

“Safe Sitter Program”
for ages 11 to 14 will take place on Friday, June 23, at the Burrillville Middle School from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at a cost of $50 per participant, includes all materials.
Participants will learn safe childcare practices, good babysitting skills and how to be responsible adolescents. Instructors are enthusiastic and committed to teens with most being registered nurses and all certified to teach Safe Sitter. Pre-registration is required by contacting Robin Zaman at 401-431-5410.
Audubon Society of Rhode Island’s Nature Detective Summer Program
will take place during the week of June 26 to June 29 for children entering fourth-seventh grade.
Join Audubon educators for a nature adventure that includes outdoor explorations, science investigations, live animals, environmental games and lots of fun.
The program will take place from 9 a.m. to noon each day at the Burrillville Recreation Center (Beckwith-Bruckshaw Lodge) 50 Lodge Road, Pascoag. The fee is $100 per participant. To register go to ASRI.org

Summer Theatre Camp
will take place during the week of July 10 to July 13 at the Burrillville Recreation Center (Beckwith-Bruckshaw Lodge) 50 Lodge Road, Pascoag from 9 a.m. to noon as well as a full performance concluding the camp on the Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at the historic Burrillville Assembly Theatre. Come spend a fun filled week learning from Instructors Brooks A. Shatraw and Emily Carter. They are two University of RI Theatre students who have vast experience with both per- forming and instructing theatre. Children ages 8 through 12 years old will learn and experience theatre for the first time or expand what they already know. There will be theatre games, acting, and education.

“Burrillville Summer Hoops”
will take place during the week of July 17 to July 20 at the Burrillville Middle School gymnasium and at the outside basketball courts.
Camp highlights include experienced coaches, skills stations, shooting and offensive skills, individual skills competitions, T-shirt, and written evaluations for all campers. The basketball camp for ages 6 to 9 is from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at a cost is $80 per four days per participant and from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for ages 10 to 16 at a cost of $95 for four days per participant.

“Summer Art Camp”
offered for ages (6-12) during the week of July 24 to July 27 from 9 a.m. and noon at a cost of $100, including all materials per participant. Register by July 1 for a $5 discount. Each day will explore a different theme using a variety of different materials.

“Xspot Summer Archery Camp”
offered for ages (7-14) during the week of July 31 to Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. and noon at a cost of $100 including all necessary equipment. Classes will be held at the Burrillville Recreation Center (Beck withBruckshaw Lodge) 50 Lodge Road, Pascoag. “Forever Fit” Senior Fitness will be relocated during the summer months to downstairs at St. Joseph’s Church, Sayles Avenue, Pascoag each Monday and Thursday from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. from June 26 through Aug. 3.
