WOONSOCKET — Cecile S. (Craig) Trant, 73, of Woonsocket died peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket.

Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Adrien and Jeannette (Frappier) Craig. She was a resident of Woonsocket for most of her life.

She was employed in her earlier year at Sadwin’s and Tupperware in North Smithfield. She later worked for A.T. Cross for many years before retiring due to illness.

Cecile expressed her talent thought crocheting and the challenge of puzzles. She was a devoted mother and cherished her role as a grandmothe­r. The care and well-being of her family was Cecile’s central devotion in life. Though she was generally a quiet person she will be remembered as a warm, kind and funny person with those to whom she was close.

Cecile’s family is grateful to all her caregivers for the care their mother received over the years. Despite the limits of her illness Cecile was determined to live and enjoy life to its fullest, and she did just that.

She is survived by a son, James W. Trant, and his wife, Lynn, of Carlisle, Mass., and a daughter, Sheryl Ann Green, and her husband, Michael, of Thompson, Conn. She was the sister of the late Jeannette P. Cournoyer. She was the sister of Leo Craig of Millbury, Mass.; Gloria Losardo of Woonsocket; and Rachel Paoletta and Muriel Craig both of Providence. She is also survived by seven grandchild­ren, Marisa, Sarina, Kassidy, Conor, Andrew, Michael Jr. and Breanna, and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Her funeral will Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Agatha Church, Fairfield Street, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.
