Police hunting two suspects in home invasion
PAWTUCKET – Police are seeking two men who allegedly terrorized a local family during an armed home invasion on Manton Street late Sunday night.
The call to police came in around 11:35 p.m. Sunday from the single-family residence at 155 Manton St. on the city’s east side. According to police, the two men gained entry to the home by smashing a window and coming through a door.
Once inside, a firearm was brandished and the men said that they were looking for money and drugs, police said. What was taken remains under investigation. However, police noted that while the men entered the home looking specifically for drugs and money, they are unsure if the suspects were in the right house.
Of the three victims – two parents and a young girl – only the man suffered an injury when he cut his arm on a piece of glass from the broken window. The injury was not related to any physical altercation during the home invasion, police said.
The invasion lasted less than a minute, police said, as the suspects fled on foot toward Newport Avenue before getting into a vehicle. Police, however, say that they do not have a description of the fleeing vehicle.
The suspects were described as a black man and a Hispanic man, both in their early 20s, with an average build, wearing black and gray hooded sweatshirts with their faces covered.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Det. Sgt. Timothy Graham at 401-727-9100, ext. 740.
