Hope Hospice & Palliative Care RI has new director
PROVIDENCE — Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Rhode Island has announced that Dana Levy Guyer, MD has joined the organization as medical director.
In her new role, Dr. Guyer serves as the physician member of the Rhode Island Hospital interdisciplinary palliative care team. In association with Edward W. Martin, MD, MPH, chief medical officer, Dr. Guyer works with patients’ primary care physicians and the interdisciplinary team to care for people living with serious illness and their families.
Prior to joining Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Rhode Island, Dr. Guyer worked as a primary care physician and palliative care consultant at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. She served as medical director at Hospice of Martha’s Vineyard and was the palliative care consultant at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital Oncology Clinic, an affiliate of the Massachusetts General Cancer Center. Dr. Guyer earned her MD from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine/pediatrics and a palliative medicine fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is board certified in hospice and palliative medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics, and she is a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Dr. Guyer resides in East Greenwich with her husband and three children.
