1971Tom MacLane’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning scored Bill Britt with the winning run as Novelty Park Post shaded Riverside Post 4-3 in a R. I. American Legion game. Ron Thurber scattered seven hits, fanned two and walled one for the win. MacLane was the only Novelty Park player with two hits and two RBI, while Ray Ventura and Jack Whitaker drove in one run apiece for the locals.

1981Mindy MacLane, Lisa Casavant and Linda Wallin combined to hurl a no-hitter as P. J. Pub’s blanked Gold Industries 11-0 in a Pawtucket Slaterette­s’ Girls Baseball Instructio­nal League tilt. MacLane and Casavant also were the hitting stars for P. J.’s with MacLane driving in six runs with two hits including a grand slam and Casavant collecting three hits and three RBI. In other Slaterette action, Judi Potter fired a no-hitter, struck out 14 and issued eight walks as Hasbro Industries whitewashe­d the Darlington National Little League 9-0 to capture the Junior Division championsh­ip crown.

1991Darlin­gton American Little League All-Star stopper Brian Beech fired a one-hitter, struck out 11, walked only two and aided his own cause going 2-for-3 as the locals completed their journey to the state Final Four with a 6-0 whitewashi­ng of Barrington to capture the District Two title. Paul Suprenard, who went 5-for-9 in the tournament, ripped a two-run single, Tommy MacLane rapped two RBI and Chris Andreozzi chipped in with a run-scoring single to lead DALL at the plate.
