Quaker house plans Nov. 5 ecumenical service, fundraiser
BLACKSTONE — On Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, at 2 p.m., the East Blackstone Quaker Meeting House & Cemetery Historical Association will hold an ecumenical service at the historic Quaker Meeting House at 197 Elm St.
Rev. Eileen J. Morris of the Slatersville Congregational Church in Slatersville will serve as guest pastor. Before becoming pastor at the Slatersville Congregational Church, UCC, Rev. Morris served at the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church, UCC in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Rev. Morris enjoys music, and the study of architecture of public buildings. Jonathan Steele of Blackstone will serve as organist.
In addition, the Association will be sponsoring a Dine-Out Fundraiser to be held that day at Willow Brook Restaurant, 16 Hastings St. (Route 16), Mendon.
Friends of the Meeting House can contribute to the Association and its preservation projects by dining at Willow Brook Restaurant on that day; a portion of food and beverage purchases made by participants between noon and 8 p.m. will be donated to the Association.
