Sensory Friendly Storytime at Harris
When: Friday, Jan. 12 Time: 4 to 4:45 p.m.
Where: Children’s Program Room Woonsocket Harris Public Library
Suitable for children of all ages abilities and sensibilities under 12. Welcome to this brand new interactiave storytime program that can be enjoyed by children of all ages, abilities and sensibilities with their adult caregiver. Sing our hello song, listen to a brief story, interactive songs like ‘Itsy Bitsy Spider,’ and help tell a story with our felt board. Then visit our sensory exploration stations. We will have kenetic sand, Great for children 12 and under with caregiver.
Registration is reqired as space is limited. Walk-ins are welcome so long as there is space. Call 401-769-9044, ext. 2 to register now.
Preschool Storytime for kids ages 2-5
When: Tuesday, Jan. 16, 23 and 30 Time: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Where: Children’s Program Room Woonsocket Harris Public Library
Suitable for ages 2-5 with adult. Preschool storytime is a fun family program where adult caregiver attends with child, and kids sing songs, play with puppets, puzzles, board book and make a craft to take home. Register now for this story. It does require registration as staff cut crafts for each child who attends and want to make sure there is enough for everyone. Walkins are welcome as long as there is enough room and craft supplies for all. Families who are registered will get reminder calls and cancellation calls due to bad weather.
Music is fun with Mr. Rowland
When: Jan. 12 and 26 Time: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Where: Large Program Room Woonsoket Harris Public Library Suitable for ages 6 and under with adult caregiver. Mr. Rowland brings is guitar and music shakers and sings songs new and old that will delight little ones and their families. Great program to get you moving with your little one. Caregiver attends program with child. Walk-ins are welcome if program is not full. Register now for this program. Families that are registered will get a reminder phone call and notice of cancellation due to sickness or weather.
Sensory Friendly Storytime at Harris
When: Monday, Jan. 8, 22 and 29 Time: 4 to 4:45 p.m.
Suitable for: Grades 3-5 Where: Studio Rhode Creation Lab in Woonsocket Harris Public Library
Learn to code a game with Scratch Jr. Using iPads supplied by the library for the duration of the program students will learn the basics of coding to create characters and backgrounds, create a race between characters, make a story, tell knock knock jokes and more. Meet in the childrens room first then go into the new studio. This is a fun program that will make students laugh and teach how programs are created. For this program, parents will be asked to sign a media release form so that we can take pictures of this new program for promotion.
