Woman stalked after casino win
LINCOLN – A West Warwick man was arrested after allegedly stalking a woman at Twin River Casino and following her home to rob her.
On November 10, 2017, the victim, a 61-year-old female, was followed home from Twin River Casino by Ty Shon Forbes, 21, of 656 Providence St., West Warwick, according to police.
The victim was assault- ed and robbed of her purse, which contained cash and personal items, police said. She sustained significant injury, including broken vertebrae.
After an investigation by the Rhode Island State Police, and local police in Quincy, Mass., authorities allege that Forbes targeted the victim after watching her
receive a high value cash-out at a cashier cage at Twin River.
Forbes followed the victim to the parking lot and then approximately 43 miles to her home in Quincy, where the robbery took place, police said.
Forbes was being held at the Adult Correctional Institution on a Superior Court bail violation on gaming enforcement unit charges of violation of a no-contact order, which police say was revealed as a result of this investigation.
The Quincy Police Department obtained a court-authorized arrest warrant for unarmed robbery and assault and battery on a person over age 60. Forbes was presented and waived extradition as a Fugitive from Justice on these charges at Third Division District Court, and was released into the custody of the Quincy Police Department.
