BLACKSTONE – Delores (Burke) Faneuf, 77, of Elm Street, died May 2, 2018, at the UMass Medical Center, Worcester, surrounded by loving family after a long illness. She was the wife of Randall Faneuf, whom she married Oct. 5, 1964, meeting at a dance while he was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC.

Born in Tutor Key, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Green and Virginia (Hayes) Burke, moving to Ragland, W.V., when she was 9 and graduating from Delbarton High School. She was a true “coal-miner’s daughter,” living in a company town where her father worked for the Island Creek Coal Company. She leaves her siblings Francis, Carol, twin brother Douglas, and Mildred, whom she kept in touch with daily.

Mrs. Faneuf worked for 20 years as a billing secretary at the Milford-Whitinsvil­le Hospital, retiring in 2010, and previously worked for 10 years at the Blackstone Pharmacy on Main Street. She was a proud member of the Blackstone Federated Church, where she served as deacon and sang in the choir.

She loved her family and was dedicated to her children, grandchild­ren, and great-grandchild­ren.

Besides her husband, Randall, and her siblings, she is also survived by her son Randy Jr. of Blackstone, his children Emily, Elsbeth, and Katelynn; and her son Brandon his wife Erica Lebrun of West Warwick, and their children Connor and Cole, as well as three great-grandchild­ren Elijah, Walter and Evelyn. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Kimberly (Tharp) Faneuf, who spent considerab­le time caregiving for her in her last days, her son Paul Tharp, his wife and their three children.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19, at 11 a.m. in the Blackstone Federated Church on Church St. in Blackstone. Funeral arrangemen­ts are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket www.holtfunera­lhome.com
