WOONSOCKET – Two women are facing multiple drug charges after police found an assortment of narcotics in their vehicle Thursday.

Samantha Lamoureux, 35, of Central Falls, is charged with possession of oxycodone, a prescription painkiller; possession of crack cocaine; and driving on a suspended license.

Her passenger, Mariah Gledhill, 25, of South Attleboro, was charged with possession of methamphetamine; possession of cocaine; and possession of fentanyl.

Police reports say officers stopped their car about 4 a.m. Depot Square after what began as a well-being check in the Cato

Hill area. Dispatch received a call from someone who saw a white female “visibly shaking” after knocking on the door of a Church Street residence.

When a cruiser pulled behind a dark-colored vehicle matching the caller’s description, “it appeared the female driving was making an obvious attempt to flee,” Officer Christopher Rooney reported.

After pulling the vehicle over in Depot Square, officers said Lamoureux seemed to be hiding something in her purse. Police also learned she didn’t have a valid license and at that point decided to detain the two women for further investigation.

The officers said Lamoureux was carrying a single dose of oxycodone. Police also found small amounts of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine in the vehicle, as well as a glass pipe used for smoking contraband.

Following an appearance

in Sixth District Court, Lamoureux was held at the Adult Correctional Institutions for violating her bail on East Providence drug charges pending since March. She’s due back in court for a hearing on July 26, according to

the judiciary’s web site.

Gledhill was released on $3,000 personal recognizance pending another hearing on July 27.
