Joseph J. Ferland Sr.

BURRILLVIL­LE – Joseph J. Ferland Sr., 84, of Pascoag, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Landmark Medical Center. Born in Woonsocket on January 27, 1933, the son of the late Narcisse and Delia (Phaneuf) Ferland, he is the father of Joseph J. Ferland Jr. and his wife, Judy of Pascoag, and Sandra Vickery and her husband, David, of Edinboro, Pa. He leaves four grandchild­ren and five great-grandchild­ren. He is the brother of the late Gabriel, Emile, Armand, Henri, Roger, Sylvio and Gerard Ferland, Rita Lamoureux, Dolores Beausoleil, Lucille Riel and Sr. Fedele Ferland, RJM.

He was a United States Army Korean War Veteran, attaining the rank of Corporal ,and received the National Defense Service Medal, Occupation Medal Germany, and Good Conduct Medal.

He was a resident of Pascoag for 20 years, formerly of Woonsocket, and worked as a machine operator at ATF Machine in Whitinsvil­le for 29 years and Texas Instrument­s in Attleboro for 15 years. He was a member of the FOPA, Glocester Senior Center, and Holy Family Drum & Bugle Corps. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 17, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Precious Blood Church, 94 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
