St. Blaise Church to host annual Harvest Fair Oct. 20

BELLINGHAM – St. Blaise Church will hold its annual Harvest Fair on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the parish hall, 1158 South Main St.

The annual fair will once again feature Grandma’s Attic, games, raffles, tasty treats, a 50/50 cash raffle and the themed decorator “Basket Game.” Available for purchase at the Fair will be tickets for the Money Raffle and Lottery Tree Raffle, both drawings to be held on Sunday, Nov. 25th, in the parish hall following 10 a.m. Mass. Winners need not be present.

New this year, is a Chili Cook-Off, to take place on the following day, Sunday, Oct. 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., again in the parish hall. A registrati­on form, available from the parish office, must be completed and submitted prior to the Cook-Off. Entrants should bring a 6-quart crock pot of heated chili to the parish hall by 10:30 a.m., along with a copy of the recipe. Space is limited to the first 15 registrant­s. Chefs will not be allowed to serve their own chili, and all taste testing will be conducted blind. Come taste and cast your vote for the best chili in three categories: Best Tasting, Hottest, and Best Non-Traditiona­l. A cost of $5 to taste all entries, with a $20 family max, will apply. St. Blaise Church has long been known for its service to the community. From the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, which serves Bellingham and surroundin­g towns, to its many active ministries, St. Blaise is an action-based, service -oriented parish community where all are welcome.

All proceeds from the Harvest Fair will be used to fund the many programs administer­ed by Saint Blaise Church that serve the parish and extended communitie­s.
