Call & Times

God will eventually ease the burden you’ve been carrying

-

While bike riding with my family this past summer on rural roads in Block Island; the unspoiled terrains, the rolling green fields and pastoral farms were breathtaking. We stopped for a moment to take some photographs of a charming lighthouse with views rolling down to the sparkling, pristine ocean. Then, we got back on our bikes and peddled for miles on a road that ran along a rocky cliff-side path. And, there, we saw an abundance of plants and wildlife.

To my left, I noticed some trees damaged from a past storm. At that moment, I recalled an old legion I once heard about a powerful hurricane that came through a dense forest. As the great wind blew, it took all the beautiful leaves off a picturesque grand oak tree. The storm snapped the tree’s boughs. It broke each branch in two. It shook its limbs and pulled its bark until the oak tree was stark and weak.

Nevertheless, the mighty oak held its ground. In a loud voice, the wild wind spoke, “How can you still be standing, Mr. Oak?”

Yet, the oak calmly replied, “I have deep roots that are stretched into the good earth. You will never touch them,” the oak said. “For you see, Mr. Wind, today I have found out just how much I can endure, and with thanks to you, I am stronger than I ever knew.”

As long as we live in this world, we are bound to encounter problems. The storms we experience certainly may not cease dear readers. But by the grace of God, we can choose to persevere, rise above, become stronger, and learn from them.

You do not have to worry. God is in control of your situation. I recall while in a local department store, I noticed the cashiers wore bright yellow-colored T-shirts. On the back of the shirts it read: “I’m here to help you.” That’s what God is saying to you today, “Look to me… I’m here to help you.”

Stand strong. Let go of the past hurts, errors, and break away from anything that is weighing you down. God wants to do mighty things for you. And His divine plan is not disregarded because of what someone said about you, a closed door or a past mistake. You were never meant to handle everything on your own.

Scripture says, “Turn your burdens over to the Lord, and

He will take care of you. He will never let the righteous person stumble.” (Psalm 55:22). For God promises that if you do this, that His peace, that surpasses all understanding, will flood your mind as you put your trust in Him. (Philippians 4:7).

Therefore, form a picture in your mind of yourself shifting your burdens to God. Hand them over to Him. Let God handle them. When you release your apprehensions, fears, and burdens to God, you can make room for new dreams, new joys, and new blessing to fill your future. So, daily:

• Pray about challenging situations, in place of worrying about them.

• Set your mind on the power of God, instead of your problems.

• Dwell on encouraging, uplifting thoughts, rather than the negative.

• Talk about your blessings, more than you converse about your worries.

• Move ahead with faith, rather than being stagnated in fear.

You are not going to continually struggle. You’ve worried long enough. God is going to ease that burden that you’ve been carrying. In the Old Testament, it tells how King Nebuchadnezzar threw Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in a fiery furnace since they stood up for truth, did what was right and wouldn’t bow down to an image of gold. On the surface, it appeared as their situation was hopeless. But they relied on God to give them strength, and believed for Him to do the impossible.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king.” (Daniel 3:16-17).

God honored their faith, and they emerged from the furnace unharmed. Nebuchadnezzar then set them free, and he declared the greatness of their God.

So if you have found yourself burdened down, anxious, or scared about any area of your life, the God of miracles is here for you. No matter what you’ve been through, what you are going through now, or how small or large your needs may be, don’t get discouraged. It’s time to resist fear and worry and look to every new blessing that’s in store for you.

A reader wrote, “Nothing is too big for God to make possible.” God’s specialty is doing the impossible. For God is getting you ready to take you into one of the best times of your life. You are about to be brought to a place of joy, peace and stability. Your hurts will be healed. You’ll become increasingly strong. Prayers will be answered. The anxiousness will leave you, and you will become calm, energetic and joyful. You’re on your way to great health, success and happiness.

Today, “Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.” (Psalm 31:24). Hence, “Cast all your cares upon Him; for He careth for you.” (I Peter 5:7).

The sky is truly the limit where you are concerned. It is not over for you for anything. You have a lot of time and lots for which to look forward. Only the best awaits.

God is here for you. Every day, He is shielding, defending, delivering, and leading the way to victory.
