1966 Bob King rolled strings of 137, 153 and 125 for a total

of 415 to lead all bowlers in the Tom Barry Memorial League at the Hamlet “30” Duckpin Lanes. Other leaders were John Sullivan 389, Ernie Halde 387, Al L’Heureux 380, Bob Ethier 379, Armand Rego 376, Don Hart 374, Bob Sapko 368, Ronnie George 366, Jim Emmott 360, Buster Emmott 360, Don Goulet 359 Charlie Gelinas 357 and Bruce Shaffer 350.

1986 Carl Hargreaves, the talented Tolman captain, climaxed

his schoolboy grid career by leading the Blackstone Valley in scoring with 17 touchdowns and 102 points, while Dave Chaput, Pawtucket West’s hard-running fullback, held on to capture the rushing crown crunching out 1,011 yards in 135 carries. Rounding out the top scorers are Lincoln running backs Frank Chartier and Jack Connell tied with 43 points, Saint Raphael Academy’s Dave Zaborski is next with 37 and Glenn McCusker of Lincoln is fifth with 36 points. The other top ground-gainers were Hargreaves with 972 yards, Chartier 794 and Connell is fourth with 574 yards.

1996 Jovan Smith of Shea and Saint Raphael Academy’s Jason

Brule waged a close battle for The Times area schoolboy football scoring crown with Smith edging Brule 114-108. Jason Baker of Attleboro took the rushing crown with 1,141 yards and Smith was second with 986. Brule was the top receiver with 45 receptions, 908 yards, 17 TD’s and a game-high 233 yards, while Lincoln’s Kevin Raymond was a distant second with 30 catches. Brule’s favorite signal-caller, Shaun Ramos, was the pacesetter with 93 completion­s, 1,601 yards, a passer-rating of 108.4 and 22 aerial tallies.
