Therese A. Desmarais

WOONSOCKET — Therese A. (Choiniere )Desmarais, 92, of Rhodes Avenue, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018 in the Friendly Nursing Home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Roch Desmarais.

Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Joseph and Laurette (Poulin) Choiniere.

Therese worked as a CNA for Pine Harbor and St. Antoine Residence for several years and also various textile mills in the area.

She was a dedicated mother and loved spending time with family and friends. Therese also enjoyed crafts, going to yard sales and sewing. She loved sweets especially candy and she always had some available for her and everyone to enjoy.

She is survived by her two sons, Dennis Desmarais and his wife, Lisa, of Oklahoma; Marc Desmarais and his wife, Patricia, of Blackstone, Mass.; one sister, Beth Brodt, of Smithfield and one brother, Walter Choiniere and his wife, Eleanor, of Pascoag; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson; eight nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Estelle.

She was also the mother of the late Gerald Desmarais and Beth Almeida,and sister to the late Joseph Choiniere.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018 at 9 a.m. from the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI. With a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Agatha Church 34 Jofree Ave. Woonsocket. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are on Monday Dec. 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
