WOONSOCKET — Two local men were arrested on Thursday after more than 300 grams of cocaine and more than 40 grams of crack cocaine were seized from their homes on Arlington Street and Blackstone Street, Rhode Island State Police said.

An investigation by members of the Rhode Island State Police High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and the Woonsocket Police Department resulted in the arrests of the two Woonsocket residents on narcotics and weapons charges.

Seized during searches of the residences were 314 grams of cocaine, 41 grams of crack cocaine, a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun, 10 Xanax pills, and $3,728 in cash, State Police said.

Navarro and Bruneault were both arrested and charged with deliver/possession with intent to deliver and manufacture a schedule II controlled substance (cocaine/crack cocaine), deliver/possession with intent to deliver and manufacture a schedule IV controlled substance (Xanax), possession of cocaine – one ounce to one kilogram, possession of firearm while committing a controlled substance violation, controlled substance conspiracy, and distribution in or near a school zone.

Both men were scheduled to be arraigned in Sixth District Court on Thursday afternoon.

Navarro also was charged with violating the terms of his probation from a 2011 conviction in Providence County Superior Court, when he pleaded guilty to a charge of carrying a pistol without a license in a case brought by the Woonsocket Police Department. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison with 18 months to serve in that case, State Police said.
