St. Agatha Seniors, Aug. 14 meeting
A total of 55 members enjoyed a chowder and clam cakes dinner ending with watermelon.
President Gerard Robidoux opened the meeting with a prayer for Denise Chamberlin, Priscille Paulhus, Cecilia Gregoire, Rev. Wilfrid Gregoire and the late Rolande Cadoret, Roger Jalette and Alan Rodrigues.
Sunshine Lady Constance Bonin sent a get-well card to Paul Belisle and sympathy cards to Martha Cote, Doris Pariseau and Florence Jalette. A thank-you card was received from Martha Cote.
Celebrating birthdays were Paul McDonald, Henry Jalbert and Herve “Pete” Petrin.
Door prize winners were Dave Lavallee, Constance Seider, Constance Bonin and Beatrice Parent. Raffle winners were Jeanne Barry, Michelle McDonald, Estelle Legare and Marguerite Deragon. Winners of the monthly raffle were Charles Desaulnier, Martha Cote, Donat Godin and Monique Noel.
Tickets will be on sale this week for the Sept. 18 dinner. Chicken Parmesan will be served. St. Agatha is running a trip to Foxwoods Resort Casino and on Aug. 30, and to Mohegan Sun on Sept. 13. Anyone interested should call Fran Roy at 401-356-1493 for reservation and info.
Winners of the special BINGO games were Simone Remillard, Albertine Deweirdt and Marie Gomes. Constance Seider was the caller. Pitch winners were Donna Bourgeois, Roger Roy, George Gautreau and Normand Piette.
There will be no meetings on Aug. 28 or Sept. 4, due to the Parish Flea Market.
St. Joseph Seniors, Aug. 13 meeting
President, Suzanne Grenier, opened the meeting. Prayers were offered for the sick: Celia Gregoire, Denise Chamberlin and Rita Tetrault. Prayers were also offered for the deceased: Gene Arsenault, Rita Boisvert, and Arthur Dubois. Prayers were followed by the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.
At the group’s next meeting, Aug. 27, a meat loaf dinner will be offered at noon followed, by the regular meeting at 1 p.m..
Future Foxwoods Resort Casino trips are scheduled for Aug. 30, Sept. 27, Oct. 25, Nov. 22 and Dec. 27. Contact Fran Roy at 401-356-1493 for more.

St. Agatha Seniors scheduled trip to MGM Springfield on Friday, Oct. 11, has two buses already filled and a waiting list is being kept. Due to possible cancellations in the future, do not be afraid to add your name to the waiting list. Also scheduled are trips to Mohegan Sun on Sept. 13 and Nov. 8. Again, contact Fran Roy for more.
