bles tandem, played flawless tennis in defeating the Lions’ second squad of Pam Slattery and Paula Azar 6-2, 6-0 to capture the annual R. I. Injury Fund Doubles Tournament. Lincoln coach Claire Gouin was asked which team did she root for. “I told them I’d probably take a walk over to the Burger Chef and let them fight it out,” quipped Gouin. “Seriously, it was a fun final but Rajabian and White were too strong.”

1993 Sophomore speedster Hassan Hammed sparked Saint

Raphael Academy with 102 yards rushing on 28 carries to pace the Saints to a 16-13 win over Warwick Vets in Class B action. Hammed scored on a seven-yard run and made the game’s most significan­t play, a 91-yard kickoff return in the third quarter. “Hassan showed his true potential today,” said coach Todd Vasey. Mike Siravo kicked a 25-yard field goal, an extra point and picked off a Scott Leonard pass that led to his field goal for SRA.
