1950 Charlie Anglee, Pawtucket middleweight, will meet

Jimmy Taylor of New York in a 10-round bout that will headline the card at the Fall River Casino. Anglee hopes to use tonight’s bout as a conditioner for his forthcoming fight with Tommy Yarosz of New York at the R. I. Auditorium in two weeks. Anglee also is the logical contender for the New England middleweight crown now worn by Joe Rindone of Roxbury. 1960 Carmen Show Girl of Ox Yoke, a Pawtucket owned and

handled dog, took first open and reserve winner in the St. Bernard’s working breed at the Green Lawn, Long Island and the Old Westbury shows over the weekend. She is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dube of 4 Lindesta Court and was handled by Mrs. Dube. One of Carmen’s puppies and handled by Mrs. Dube, Mardanof’s Rosko von Wildwood, was the best puppy in both shows.

1970 A second-place finish by Don Couture, a third by Rich

Prive and a fourth by captain Jim Beardwood led the Lincoln harriers to a double win, 23-36 over Ponagansett and 15-50 over Saint Raphael Academy in a triangular cross country meet in Lincoln. A sixth-place finish by Ken Ryan and ninth by Glenn LaChance sealed the wins. The first SRA finishers were Paul Sasseville in 11th place and Bill Spinard in the 12th spot. In other X-C action, Bill Thornhill covered the 2.4-mile Slater Park course in 12:02 and was followed by teammate John Noonan as Pawtucket West posted a 25-31 win over Mount St. Charles.
