1970 TailbCharl­ey O’Malley and Terry Denelle combined

for three sacks, Ed Quinn and Terry Tracey recovered fumbles and Don Lagor intercepte­d a fourth quarter pass with key defensive plays figuring prominentl­y in the scoring as Saint Raphael Academy posted a 22-6 win over Bristol in a Class B East contest. Gary O’Brien dashed 11 yards, QB Dennis Hanson connected with Tony Costa for seven yards and Ted Ferland recovered a Colts’ fumble in the end zone to account for the Saints’ touchdowns. Quinn was also on the receiving end of three aerials from Hanson for a total of 60 yards and caught another pass for an apparent TD that was nullified by a penalty.

1980 Pete Corrigan, Rick Blanco and B. J. Roderick com

bined to make it a perfect season for Cote & Troy Insurance in the Lincoln Parks & Recreation Department Flag Football League as the Insurers defeated Miracle Painters 20-9 to close the regular season at 6-0. Blanco scored on an 85-yard kickoff return, Roderick scampered 40 yards and each caught a touchdown pass for the winners. In other action, Mike Raymond tossed for three touchdowns, hitting George Chadwick for a pair, in Juice Services 28-12 triumph over Tarpy’s.

1990 Rich Ptaszek scored four touchdowns and rushed for

139 yards in 21 carries to lead Lincoln to a 35-22 win over Hope in a Class B crossover tilt. Ptaszek tallied on an 83yard kickoff return, and runs of 11, one and three yards. Brian Domenico provided the Lions with their other TD on a 12-yard dash. Tom Hayden converted five straight PAT boots for the locals.
