1955 Cumberland received balanced scoring with four

Clippers hitting double digits in a 64-56 win over East Greenwich in Class C action. Carl Faria garnered gamehigh honors with 17 points, Al Araujo netted 12 and Bruce Cranshaw and Paul Tucker had 10 each. Defensive standouts for the Clippers were Jerry Sanna and Cranshaw. The victory was Cumberland’s sixth against four Class C defeats. 1965 For the second year in a row and for the third time

in four years, coach Dick Bessette’s Sacred Heart Academy’s quintet clinched the Class B pennant by whipping Woonsocket 81-59. The eager Beavers, unbeaten in their last 13 games, had five players in double figures led by Spike Froment and 6-foot-2 Mike Campbell, who also hauled down 10 rebounds, with 17 points, Bob Boisclair, a rugged six-footer, caged 16 points and grabbed 13 caroms, reserve Pete Emond hooped 12 points and Manny Alvarez, a husky 6-3, 210-pounder, had 11 points and snared 12 rebounds. Fred Harris, the Villa Novans’ 6-4 pivot ace, canned 16 points followed by Dick Jarry (13), Ron Gentile (12) and Jim Jarry (10).

1975 Bernie Forrestal was victorious in the shot put (44

10) and the 25-lb weight (54-7) as Saint Raphael Academy captured the Pawtucket Indoor Track championsh­ip. Other SRA winners were Peter Hogan in the 1,000 (2:32), Paul Rynasiewic­z in the mile (4:53), John Gorman and Bob Dudzik in the two mile (10:43) and Jerry Bessette in the 45-yard high hurdles. Pawtucket West, which finished second, won three events with John Montague in the 50 dash (5.7), Manny Marshall in the 300 (36.7) and B. J. Roderick in the high jump (5-6). Tony Ulwick gave Tolman its only win, taking the 600 in 1:24.9.
