ST. AGATHA SENIORS FEB. 26

President Gerry Robidoux opened the meeting with prayers for Leo Robidoux, Martha Cote, Lucienne Croteau, and Paul McDonald.

Tickets are currently on sale for the Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner scheduled for March 11. Tickets must be purchased by March 4.

St. Agatha is sponsoring trips to MGM on March 13 and Mohegan Sun on April 10. There will be two buses going to MGM. Plenty of seats are still available for both of these trips. Please contact Fran Roy at 401-356-1493 for more informatio­n. Need not be a member to sign up.

St. Joseph Senior Citizens is also sponsoring trips to a Red Sox game on July 1 and Pennsylvan­ia Dutch on August 3-7. Please contact Barbara DeChristof­aro at 401-766-7901 for more informatio­n.

Club members were reminded that they can have their tax preparatio­ns done for free in Woonsocket by calling the CCF at 46 Hope St. at 401-766-3384 or the CCA at 800 Clinton St. at 401-235-7187.

A thank you card was received from Pauline Belisle. Celebratin­g birthdays this week are Pat Palardy and Simone Remillard, who has a special birthday at 102 years old.

2020 Membership Dues and Monthly Club Enrollment­s are currently being collected. Meetings are held every Wednesday at 1 p.m. and all seniors 55 and over are welcome to become members. Monthly Club Enrollment­s must be purchased by March 4 in order to qualify for the first three drawings to be held on March 11.

After a long absence Joe DeChristof­aro was welcomed back as a member.

Door prize winners were Roger Roy, Jeanne Treat, Doris Pariseau and Jocelyn Joyal.

Raffle winners were Jeanne Giguere, Barbara DeChristof­aro, Lucille Galipeau and George Gautreau.

Winners of the special Bingo games were Gert Laprade, Jocelyn Joyal and Lucille Galipeau. Connie Seider was the caller. Pitch winners were Roland Roy, Jeanne Treat, Gino Orazi, Bob Laplante and Roger Roy.

Serving coffee and pastries were Marge Deragon, Fran Roy, Jeanne Theroux and Jeanette Cousineau.

The group’s next scheduled meeting is March 10. President Fran Roy, opened the meeting with prayers for the sick, Jeanne Leblanc, Paul McDonald and Michelle McDonald, Leo Robidoux, Irene Frigon, and Jeanne Savaria. As well as prayers for the deceased: Paul Belisle (husband of Pauline Belisle), Normand Lafontaine (husband of Connie Lafontaine), and Dale Connoly (son-in-law of Oscar and Helen Nichols).

The Monthly Club drawings for January, February and March will be made at the next meeting on March 10.

The first meal of the year will be Corned Beef and Cabbage, scheduled for March 24. Tickets are on sale March 10. (Still $10).

Flyers and signup sheets for all casino trips are on the round table. St. Joseph’s next scheduled trip to Foxwoods is on February 28. St. Agatha’s Mohegan Sun trip is scheduled for April 10. The MGM trip is scheduled for March 13. There are still seats available for these casino trips and the cost is $25. Contact Fran Roy for informatio­n on all Casino trips. Her number is 401-356-1493.

The St. Agatha’s Atlantic City trip on May 3-5 had to be canceled due to lack of interest, but we will try again at another time of year. We do have a Penn Dutch trip on August 3-7, a Boston Red Sox trip on July 1 at a cost of $102 per person. Contact Barbara De Christofar­o at 401-766-7901 for informatio­n on these trips.

NEW BUSINESS: New Members: Marianne Latham, Lucille Gentile, Lucienne Barbeau, Lucille Groleau, Gino Orazi and Lucette Martel.

St. Joseph Seniors has adopted a Pitch League for all those more interested in cards than Bingo. The game runs concurrent­ly with the Bingo. This League started two meetings ago and we are still looking for more card players to join in.

This week’s Pitch winners were: Gino Orazi, Norm Piette and Bob Laplante.

Door Prize Winners: Jeanne Gamache, Lucille Gentile, Robert Laplante, Lorie Dutremble and Shirley Levitre.
